NONOX, the AdBlue
division of Australian fertilizer and mining chemical supplier Tennant, is to install AdBlue
pumps at more than 400 new unmanned Transtank diesel refuelling
sites in Australia. NONOX and Transtank have developed AdBlue
storage and dispensing equipment together with Bott
AdBlue of Germany. Transtank and NONOX plan to have many of the
sites in place before Euro IV emissions limits become applicable in
Australia as part of the ADR80/02 regulations on 1 January 2008.
All the sites will be new, and will add to the existing refuelling
network.
NONOX is the only AdBlue supplier currently
active in Australia. It has established first-fill deals with
all the vehicle manufacturers planning to supply SCR trucks and
buses, and supplies AdBlue to most truck dealerships with SCR
vehicles in their range. AdBlue currently sells for about 1.15
Australian dollars per litre (US$0.97/€0.72), roughly the price of
diesel, but sales are only for vehicles being tested and evaluated
and therefore volumes are low. NONOX expects the price to fall as
logistics become more efficient and benefit from economies of
scale.
