Nissan Chemical Industries has commissioned a new 20 million
litres per year facility for AdBlue in Fujioka, Japan. The company
already operates a 40 million litres per year production plant at
the Nagoya site. A company spokesman said capacity may be increased
further in 2009 to satisfy rising demand.
More stringent limits on diesel exhaust emissions in Japan will
boost demand for urea solution, and Nissan aims to achieve Yen 3.0
billion (US$26.9 million) in AdBlue sales in 2010. The company
expects Japan's demand for AdBlue to rise to 100 million litres in
2010, more than four times consumption in 2007.
