Cargo handling machinery firm Cargotec's Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipped Kalmar range has been approved as meeting the Tier III Interim off-road emissions standards, which come into force in Europe in 2011.
Jorma Tirkkonen, Senior Vice President RDE Services at Cargotec, said: "These engines combine high power output with efficient fuel consumption. Furthermore, there is no increase in service intervals or costly downtime as the system is designed to last the lifetime of the engines. Their introduction shows our on-going commitment to environmental protection and a desire to reduce running costs for our customers wherever possible."
All the vehicles in the new range require AdBlue.
Cargotec's equipment includes terminal tractors, logstackers and straddle carriers.
