Polish urea producer, Zaklady Chemiczne Police SA, has gained the rights from the VDA to sell its automated urea solution under the brand name AdBlue. The company hopes that the re-branding of the 32.5% urea solution from "Distarpol" to AdBlue, will lead to significant development of its share of the Polish (estimated to be up to 1.5 years behind the rest of Western Europe) and German markets. Police SA has been supplying urea solution as Distarpol to the Polish AdBlue market since September 2006, and the company plans to expand its activities in 2010 to include the sale of approximately 60,000 tonnes of dry urea for dissolving in foreign countries; reducing the high costs associated with transporting AdBlue in its finished liquid state.
