India improves fuel network to support emissions standards

The fuel networks in 13 cities across India have been improved to supply Bharat Stage IV (Euro IV equivalent) quality diesel and petrol.

The new standard will reduce sulphur content in petrol and diesel to 50ppm, facilitating the implementation of Euro IV equivalent emission regulations which are due this year.

The cities covered include Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, and the rest of India will have to switch to Bharat Stage IV by October 2010.

Integer Research will hold its first Diesel Emissions Conference in India in September this year, helping OEMs access and determine the most cost effective solutions for meeting forthcoming Indian emissions legislation.
