Engine manufacturer Cummins has signed a deal with Russian truck manufacturer KAMAZ to share its Euro VI technology through the companies' joint venture, ZAO Cummins KAMA.
The deal means engines capable of meeting Euro VI standards, which will be brought into force in Russian in 2018, can be manufactured by the company.
Tom Linebarger, Cummins' President and Chief Operating Officer, said: "Cummins, KAMAZ and the countries where we do business will reap the benefit in terms of jobs and a cleaner environment as a result of this agreement."
ZAO Cummins KAMA produces around 1,000 engines per month at its Chelny facility which are sold to KAMAZ and other Russian OEMs.
