South African lubricant manufacturer and distributor Viscol has formed a joint venture with German-based Kruse to produce AdBlue. The partnership, named Blue Sky Environmental Technologies, will use Kruse's expertise and equipment to establish a manufacturing plant in the country.
Production will start at Viscol's facilty in Tshwane, South Africa next year and the company will supply export markets and domestic vehicle manufactures conducting trials on Euro IV and V engines.
Alex Hime, Chairman of Viscol, said: "In addition, a prominent local construction equipment manufacturer has set its sights on introducing equipment compliant to Euro IV and Euro V standards by 2011."
Vehicle manufacturers, including Toyota, are putting pressure on the South African government to introduce Euro V equivalent emission standards by 2012.
