Beijing Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection has confirmed plans to implement China Phase 5 emissions standards (Euro V equivalent) for heavy-duty vehicles will go ahead in January 2012.
Du Shaozhong, Deputy Director of the Bureau, added Beijing has eliminated more than 150,000 yellow label cars and reduced vehicle emissions approximately 313.5 tons per day in the past year.
