Daimler will provide technological expertise on diesel engines and aftertreatment designs in a new joint venture with China's Foton Motor.The JV will produce medium and heavy-duty vehicles capable of meeting Euro IV and V equivalent emissions standards.
"This marks a milestone for the joint venture between Daimler and the Chinese truck manufacturer Foton Motor and for the implementation of Daimler Trucks' worldwide strategy," said Andreas Renschler, head of Daimler Trucks and Buses.
Daimler has a 50% stake in the company.
