Sensors and sensor-based systems designer and manufacturer Measurement Specialties has completed the acquisition of Timequest, sole shareholder of Gentech International from an affiliate of Rubicon Partners.
Gentech is a designer and manufacturer of position sensors used for tank liquid measurement, including urea tank levels in heavy truck Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.
Company CEO Frank Guidone said: "Gentech is a tremendous strategic add for the company. Not only does this allow us to broaden our offering to target heavy truck OEMs with coolant and fuel tank level sensors, the combination provides a clear roadmap for us to expand our urea quality systems to SCR tanks, through combined level/quality measurement."
The acquisition was closed for £6.5 million net of cash. An additional £1.5 million is linked to performance against targets.
