EXCLUSIVE: BlueCat invests in Irish plant

Brockley Group has increased the capacity of its AdBlue plant in Ireland, which produces its BlueCat-branded AdBlue, from 4.5 to 8.0 million litres.

Nicky Holmes, marketing director at Brockley Group, told FindAdBlue.com: "The investment has been made to keep pace with the projected growth in demand for AdBlue as Euro VI and Tier IV legislation comes into effect. It will also ensure that sufficient stocks are held in Ireland to cope with any shortfall should other importers of product suffer supply disruptions."

Storage capacity has been increased by installing three new stainless steel tanks, an additional di-ionising unit and the dilution unit has been upgraded to shorten production times.

Holmes added: "Although growth in demand for AdBlue in Ireland is sluggish as the internal economy seeks to recover it is clear that legislation and technological developments will ultimately drive the requirement for the increased capacity. The improved efficiency of the facility will help contain the effects caused by the escalating costs of urea and that this was a primary factor in the decision to upgrade the facility at this time."
