The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai plans to implement Euro 4 and 5 emissions norms, according to its Director of Strategic Transportation Planning.
Naser Abu Shehab, told the Khaleej Times: "Current emission
standards deal with the measurement of carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbon levels only; the acceptable levels of these emissions
are 4.5 per cent and 800 ppm, respectively, and are considered to
be relaxed.
"The UAE is a member of the Kyoto Protocol and, hence, the RTA has
plans to gradually adopt the more strict Euro 4 and 5
standards."
