Blue Sky opens South African plant

Blue Sky Environmental Technologies, a joint venture between Tshwane-based lubricant blender Viscol and Kruse, has opened its first AdBlue manufacturing plant in South Africa.

The plant in Centurion has a capacity of 30,000 litres per day when operating on a single shift, according to its Blue Sky's director.

Alex Hime, added: "We have identified the capacity for nine more plants in South Africa. The second and third plants are planned for Cape Town and Durban, but it may take up to a year to set them up. It looks like we will take a franchise route here."

Mercedes-Benz has already began selling Euro V trucks in South Africa.
