Chemical company BASF is investing €40m over two years to expand production capacity at its mobile emissions catalyst hub in Shanghai, China.
Frank Bozich, President of BASF's global Catalysts division, said: "This expansion underscores the dynamic demand growth we have seen in China, which has emerged as the global leader in automotive production. We expect that trend to continue as emissions control regulations continue to tighten in China and throughout the Asia-Pacific region in the months and years ahead."
The investment will boost manufacturing capacity for catalysts used in automotive, motorcycle and heavy-duty diesel engines.
