Both models will use Scania DC9 and DC13 engines and come equipped with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) technology. The vehicles will require AdBlue.
Compared to previous Tier IIIB models, both Tier 4 Final DA30-5 and DA40-5 are able to carry 10% more load and are up to 15% more efficient. In addition to advanced aftertreatment systems, the trucks have an exhaust brake that works with an airflow sensor to further reduce overall emissions.
Fuel efficiency testing has recorded an average of 3.96 gallons per hour for the DA30-5 and 4.49 gallons per hour for the DA40-5 model.
