In October 2008, Valtra revealed a new range of middle-weight tractors, the S-series, incorporating SCR technology. Five models make up the series, ranging in power from 270 to 370 horsepower. The new S-series shares the 8.4litre Sisu engine - developed by another Agco subsidiary, Fendt - with Massey Ferguson's 8600 range. Therefore, it is not surprising the S-series is markedly similar to Massey Ferguson's latest offering. Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra are all wholly owned subsidiaries of Agco Corporation.
