SPATCO, a US producer of Diesel Exhaust Fluid dispensing equipment, has signed an agreement with Pilot Travel Centers to provide bulk DEF dispensing units at Pilot truckstops throughout North America. Truckstops closest to Pilot's and SPATCO's headquarters in North Carolina and Tennessee, respectively, were the first to be equipped with the dispensers, and in the run-up to 2010 there are plans for several more installations across the country. Other DEF dispenser suppliers have followed suit, such as Gilbarco Veeder-Root whose Encore DEF Dispenser is designed to prevent on-site freezing and crystallisation of the solution. These new agreements come as the EPA's 2010 legislations draw nearer and the need for nationwide availability of DEF increases.
