Tyre manufacturer Continental has found a significant impact on tyre wear as a result of selective catalytic reduction technologies. According to Continental, the inclusion of AdBlue tanks and SCR systems in vehicles to facilitate the move from Euro IV to Euro VI accounts for a weight gain of approximately 400Kg. "Operators remain under immense pressure not only to reduce their running costs, but also to meet the demands of new legislation," said Jill Rodgers, Commercial Product Market Manager at Continental Tyres. Continental expects to see growth in demand for tyres with higher load capacity, and a trend away from budget brands.
